The experiment was simple:
1. Say "yes" to any creative project that came in the door.
2. Give yourself the permission to be flaky and change your mind.
3. Use the "spaces" philosophy to make it all happen. Nothing happens that isn't in a manifested space.
The result of this experiment is the reason that I haven't been posting here lately. It's not that I'm depressed or down or have fallen into the "don't have anything to say of a structured nature" trap. It's that in opening the door wide, in giving the equivalent of one-day amnesty, or a day of pardoning sins for all church comers, in letting it be known to myself that the door was open, it was discovered that a whole slew of gypsies and jugglers, mad hatters and revolutionaries, zen masters and old gods were waiting on the doorstep.
I've let them all in with at least the promise to hear what they have to say. It was surprising, though, how many rented one of the rooms and stayed.
Lately, my list of active projects has doubled, mainly moving things from the planning stages to the implementation stages, but also in the addition of new creatures in from the cold.
The Blonde Swedes represents the first block of activity, with me taking the role of mixer and producer of podcasts, a chance to become more and more familiar with audio production and all things Apple. But apart from this undertaking, things Swedish are unfolding in interesting and exciting ways. More on that as it happens.
I'm also moving ahead with final envisioning of the podcast "This Wallingford Life", on the video production front with various tids and bits of a tutorial and experimental nature, on the machinima front with the start of new scripting ideas for the continuation of "Rock in a Hard Place", on the web design front with the start of planning stages for both windwalking.com and blondeswedes.com, on the writing front with plans to consolidate my journal and blog posts over the last 10 years into one centralized location and with a new blog/art project I plan to start next week.
What seems to be suffering, however, is pure creative writing. Seeing Sarah Vowell last week and reading new (to me) Sedaris has kicked me into the "I could do this" mode, or at least into the "this is interesting to me" mode. But I seem very hesitant to begin writing on any of the ideas I had, apart from the new podcast. In general, I'm finding that I also don't have time to post to my journal much, or to write in
blackwingedboy. There's something going on there of a psychological nature and I'm not sure what it is yet.
So I think it'll be time for a new space, a purely writing and nothing else space, that I can try to schedule once a week. That's in addition to my very robust and blessed social life, regular attendance at geek events and theater performances, the upcoming wedding, a full time job, vacations, daily practice, and the all important do nothing days.
However, the point of THIS post was to say hello and tell you that I'm here, but crazily busy, full to the brim in a good way. Juices are flowing and spring is coming fast. And thank you for reading me.

Cool for her. Hee. Then I'll tag you, too. Just as another vote for wanting to see what you come up with. *grin*
