I can't quite explain the feeling of wholeness in having a single identity on Live Journal again. The extent to which so many of us can somehow perceive of the order of a virtual space, and care about what it contains and how it is contained, continues to amaze me.

I'll be posting more soon, as things are a bit mad with preparations for December. But I did want to welcome back my original presence and thank my alternate presence.

If you are looking for entries before June of 2006, you can now find them in [info]bwb_archive. If you are looking for me, you can find me bundled up and watching cartoons while the massively large and bright moon pierces the cold glass of my windows.

Things are good, finally. And I'm excited to get back into writing.

I am busy Wednesday night, miss B, otherwise you'd be on. We'll have to compare our calendars and see if we intersect anywhere.

but... but.... isn't it your writing night ?

Nah, I've never had a standing writing night. It shifts each week, depending on what else is going on. Usually it ends up being Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Though sometimes it's been Monday or Friday.

Actually I try most weeks to get two in :)

I'm sure this is a fascinating conversation for people reading the journal :)

This week looks to be Tuesday night, and also potentially Friday night, if I can swing it.

Yeah, I was wondering why this post already had 8 comments. I mean really, I'm glad he's a whole wolfbird now but 8 comments?

I am glad you guys might get to write together though.

Hey, maybe it's because I am universally loved and comment-worthy! :)

so true, so true.

Yay! Again! And I totally relate to the feeling of wholeness thing. I remember really feeling the need to have two blogs, so I didn't "pollute" my writing blog with links to videos of puppies and so forth :) But now I'm happily on LiveJournal it feels so great just to have the whole of me in one place. I know your writing will be posted elsewhere but still, having a central identity is a good feeling. Yay for the wholeness of Blackwingedboy.

You know, maybe Twitter fills that "videos of puppies" need now. I think the concern of "polluting" a writing blog with less-writerly content is a valid one, and what the situation might have required is this whole new separate class of blogginess that Twitter embodies. It facilitates that separation.

Now if there was a way to list recent Twittings in LJ as a side-bar to one's writers blog, that would be keen.

That is a great idea.

Maybe the LJ gods are listening.

Oh and I completely agree with you. I hadn't realized that my approach to Twitter has become that "video of puppies", but it has. Because really sometimes you just want to say a sentence out loud and be done with it. Blogs just never worked as that channel.

So, the more I think about your analysis of Twitter versus Blogging, the more I think you are right on.

Remind me never to post the 15 minute rant we had in audio against Twitter and Twitterers in the spring :)

Hey, I'm sure that rant was scholarly and well-researched. Twitter sucked until all of us joined, I'm sure of it! :)

Yes, I think that would be great too, the sidebar thing. I am totally loving Twitter. However I still reserve the right to post videos of puppies on my LJ if I please :)

Hmmm... thank you.

I was thinking of splitting my regular journal and my writing stuff into another journal and now I can see why I shouldn't.

Thank you.

Tags seem to work well for finding/hiding things. And as I said earlier, I plan to read your stuff after the end of the semester but it's nice also seeing when someone has Written. It gives it the journal-y context.
